Annual Hybrid Meeting of the SPEED Project – September 4 & 5, 2025
The Annual Hybrid Meeting of the SPEED project (Strategies for regional caPacity building of hybrid ElEctric vehicle in Engineering Division) officially began today, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the University of Stavanger, Norway, with participants attending both in person and virtually.
This first day featured rich presentations and insightful discussions on the progress made by each partner since the last meeting. Project stakeholders shared updates on ongoing activities, key achievements, and challenges encountered throughout the implementation process. A particular focus was placed on strengthening regional capacity in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) engineering and promoting innovative teaching practices in this fast-evolving field.
SPEED aims to develop a smart platform and tailored training programs to address the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions, while aligning engineering education with the needs of the green energy transition. The project fosters Euro-Mediterranean collaboration, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and workforce development.
The second day of the meeting, scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, September 5, will focus on strategic planning for upcoming phases of the project, review of deliverables, and coordination of cross-cutting activities. The agenda also includes thematic workshops designed to deepen cooperation among partner institutions.
This annual meeting serves as a crucial milestone in evaluating the project’s progress and ensuring alignment across all work packages. It reflects the consortium’s shared commitment to advancing engineering education that is technologically relevant, environmentally conscious, and future-ready.
The SPEED consortium extends its sincere thanks to the University of Stavanger for its warm hospitality and excellent organization, and to all partners for their continuous engagement in driving the project forward.
